LNB Round 4 of Regular Season

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 4 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Leones (1-4) by sixth ranked Heroes (2-3) who outscored them by 17 points 102-85. Heroes dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 46. Heroes forced 23 Leones turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Leones' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jack Clark (208-2000, college: VCU, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) who added 9 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American Angel Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heroes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Marineros. Leones lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. Heroes is looking forward to face Titanes (#7) in San Cristobal in the next round. Leones will play on the road against Caneros in La Romana and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Important game to mention about took place in La Vega. Top-ranked Metros (6-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Reales (3-3) 92-90 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Reales. The winners were led by American guard Troy Cracknell (193-1999, college: Augusta) who scored that evening 22 points and Jordan Hall supported him with 16 points and 6 assists. Even 19 points by forward Anderson Mirambeaux (203-1999, college: Miami, OH) did not help to save the game for Reales. Reales' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Metros have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Reales at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. Metros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Reales will play again on the road against the league's leader Metros in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Marineros (#4) were upset in La Romana by seventh ranked Caneros 90-86. Eusebio Suero fired 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Emmanuel Omogbo produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Caneros (2-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Titanes. Marineros lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Heroes. Caneros will meet at home bottom-ranked Leones (#9) in the next round. Marineros will play against Soles (#8) and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 4: Indios won against Caneros on the opponent's court 91-86. Soles managed to outperform Marineros in a home game 89-76. Soles recorded a loss to Titanes on the road 89-84.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists by Jhonatan Araujo of Titanes.



Caneros - Indios 86-91

Very expected game in La Romana where 7th ranked Caneros (2-4) were defeated by top-ranked Indios (5-0) 91-86 on Friday. Indios made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. American forward Charles Brown Jr (198-1997, college: St.Joseph's) fired 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Kittitian forward Kingsley Fitzgerald (188-1986) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian forward Lazar Lugic (208-1998, agency: Dagger Basket) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Greek point guard Rafail Lanaras (196-2001) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Indios have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-0 record behind leader Metros. Loser Caneros dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Titanes. Indios will meet at home bottom-ranked Leones (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Caneros will play against Leones and hope to secure a win.

There was a small surprise in Santo Domingo where sixth ranked Soles (1-3) defeated 4th ranked Marineros (2-3) 89-76 on Friday. Swingman Jonathan Bello (195-2001) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Jean Quezada (206-2000) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Swingman Luis Feliz (190-2002) produced 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Emmanuel Omogbo (203-1995, college: Colorado St.) added 19 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Soles went down to eighth position due to points difference. It was Marineros' third loss in a row. They keep the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Heroes. Soles will again meet higher ranked Marineros (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Marineros will have a break next round.

Reales - Metros 90-92

There was a minor upset in San Cristobal where 6th ranked Soles (1-3) were defeated by ninth ranked Titanes (2-4) 89-84 on Sunday. Titanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Naturalized Spanish power forward Jhonatan Araujo (206-1996) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Jonathan Bello (195-2001) produced 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Jean Quezada (206-2000) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Titanes and four Soles players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caneros. Loser Soles dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Titanes will meet higher ranked Heroes (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Soles will play against Marineros in Puerto Plata and hope to win that game.
